We note an emergency application has been lodged with the Minister for the Environment and Water, the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP regarding Lee Point. The emergency application is a matter for the Minister.
DHA can confirm that it has voluntarily stopped work at Lee Point while the Minister considers the application, and will liaise with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
No clearing works will be undertaken while this takes place. DHA’s contractor will remain onsite and may need to utilise machinery to reinstate fencing should it be damaged to maintain site safety and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements. DHA will make no further comment regarding Lee Point at this time.
