Gifts and benefits register

DHA reports all gifts and benefits received valued at over $AUD100.00 (excluding GST), in accordance with best practice guidance from the Australian Public Service Commission. The gifts and benefits register is published on a quarterly basis.

DHA’s Managing Director has not received any gifts over the reportable threshold.

DHA’s Managing Director had membership of Qantas’ Chairman’s Lounge and Virgin Australia’s The Club before commencing as the Managing Director of DHA. He has retained these memberships.

The Canberra Raiders provided 89 tickets to Canberra-based DHA staff to attend the NRL ANZAC Day round match at GIO Stadium in Canberra on 28 April 2024.  These tickets were provided as part of DHA’s support of the NRL Anzac Day round. The tickets were General Admission with a nominal value of $35 each.  DHA’s support of the NRL Anzac Day round also raised $16,181.45 for Kookaburra Kids (which delivers the Defence Kids Program across Australia and supports youths impacted by family mental illness).  This amount comprised proceeds of a jersey auction and a charity raffle conducted at the match.

Other Board and independent committee members

None of DHA’s Board members and independent committee members have reported receiving any gifts over the reportable threshold.

Four Board members had memberships of Virgin’s The Club before joining DHA. They have retained these memberships.

Two Board members and one independent Committee member had memberships of the Qantas Club before joining DHA. They have retained these memberships.
