Getting there

Anglesea Barracks is located at 96-120 Davey Street, Hobart, Tasmania. The front gate is unmanned, and access is managed remotely by Wilson Security who can be contacted through the intercom buttons at the front gate (pedestrian and/or vehicle gates). For after-hours access without a swipe card, press the intercom button for assistance.

Key collection and returns

Personnel arriving onsite can access their accommodation during business hours through the Ventia Accommodation Manager building 91 (to the left of the front gate).

Afterhours access is via the locked box at the front pedestrian gate. You should have received either a text message or email with access details to open the lock box. 

Your mobile number is required to be detailed on DHA to ensure you can receive an SMS message with the pin code to access the lockbox for afterhours key collection.

  • Key collection after 2pm.
  • Key collection and return to Accommodation Office.
  • Rooms are to be vacated and keys returned by 10am.
  • Key collection and return outside business hours are via the key lock box and key return slot on the front gate.
  • Lost keys must be reported to the Accommodation office immediately.
    A cost will be incurred for replacement.

Room/cabin information

Rooms are provisioned for stays up to 21 days with soap, toilet paper and towel (replenished and room cleaned every seven days). You will need to bring your own toiletries, towel, and clean your own room for longer stays (excluding Duty officer, Recruit or Cadet Accommodation).  For further information about your room, contact the base Accommodation Office.  It is essential that you are aware of your LIA obligations in accordance with PACMAN, Annex 7.3.A: Licence to Live In.

VIP rooms

DHA cannot allocate VIP rooms; contact the Base Support Team for BM approval (LTCOL (E) or WO1 (E) and above) via email: segservicedeliverysezbasemgt.tas@defence.gov.au

Non-duty bookings

Non-duty bookings can be cancelled at any time before or during your stay due to service and/or operational priorities.

All bookings over 7 days are to be submitted to SEG for approval by the BM via email at segservicedeliverysezbasemgt.tas@defence.gov.au

All family bookings are to be submitted to SEG for approval by the BM via email at segservicedeliverysezbasemgt.tas@defence.gov.au

Non-duty bookings attract a charge in accordance with Defence policy (FINMAN). Cost recovery will be initiated after key collection by the on-base Accommodation Office. Queries should be directed to the Accommodation Office.
