What information we collect

• details relevant to Defence housing entitlements and accommodation requirements
• information about family members or recognised other persons who will reside in Defence housing
• information provided through Online Services, forms, applications and correspondence
• information required to manage tenancy, maintenance, relocation and complaint matters
• health or other sensitive information where necessary to meet housing or legal obligations. 

How we collect your information

We generally collect personal information:

• directly from you
• from the Department of Defence
• from Defence contractors involved in relocation or housing services
• from your authorised representatives
• through DHA Online Services, applications, enquiries, maintenance requests and other interactions with DHA. 

Why we collect your information

We collect, use and disclose personal information to:

• provide suitable housing and related services
• manage housing entitlements and tenancy arrangements
• maintain and inspect properties
• respond to enquiries, complaints and incidents
• meet legal and contractual obligations
• perform DHA's functions under the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987.

DHA may disclose personal information to:

• the Department of Defence
• contracted service providers engaged by DHA
• maintenance and relocation providers
• your authorised representatives
• government agencies where authorised or required by law.

If you do not provide your information

If you do not provide the personal information requested, DHA may be unable to provide housing, tenancy, relocation or related services.
