DHA recently held an Investor Seminar at the heritage-listed Grace Hotel in Sydney, providing local investors with insights into the various investment pathways currently offered by DHA. The event attracted an audience of approximately 80 participants, including individuals interested in initiating their investment journey as well as existing DHA landlords exploring new strategies to expand their property portfolios.

The panel line-up included Luciano Galati, NSW Business Development Manager who described how DHA’s inclusive lease plus Property Care Contract delivers excellent value compared to conventional property management services.

This value was underscored by fellow panellist and DHA landlord Lisa Taylor, who spoke of her experience as a long-term DHA investor. With multiple properties in her portfolio, Lisa described her DHA investment journey; purchasing her first property through a mid-lease sale, and finding an additional property to lease to DHA with the specialised support of our expert Leasing Team. Her son, who is a first-time investor at the tender age of 20, recently took a similar approach by buying a DHA pre-approved investment property in the Shoalhaven region of NSW. 

Lisa discussed the challenges of organising maintenance and repairs through private real estate agents while balancing family and business responsibilities. She highlighted DHA’s property care services as the key benefit of investing with DHA. 

“We were unsatisfied with the level of service from the private market. DHA…would take a lot of the hassle and management out of the equation so we could free up time for our business, family and other aspects of our life.”

With independent analysis from Geof Snell, Principal Property Economist at Oxford Economics Australia, a comparison of DHA’s service fee(Opens in a new tab/window) and traditional management fees was also shown.

Investors were also introduced to DHA’s Build to Lease Program and learned how they can secure a pre-approved property with a DHA lease commitment up to 24 months before completion. Following the presentation local builders and developers Omaya(Opens in a new tab/window)Australis Properties(Opens in a new tab/window) and GJ Gardner Shoalhaven(Opens in a new tab/window) were on hand to talk to investors and provide details about a range of properties across Sydney, Newcastle and Shoalhaven they currently have on offer.
