Building warranties

As the owner of the property, any building warranties relating to the construction of the property are your responsibility as set out in the DHA Lease Agreement.

As you are responsible for any structural issues impacting your property, once the warranties expire, you will be unable to claim against them1.

To protect your investment, we suggest you familiarise yourself with any warranties and associated expirations and if applicable, consider arranging a qualified tradesman to inspect the property. We can help to coordinate access to the property at a time that is convenient for both the contractor and occupant.

Should any issues arise related to your property’s structural integrity, you will need to address these concerns.

Tip: Pest protection

If there was a pest protection installed during construction, the warranty may specify the frequency, nature of inspection or specific inspection company required.
