Highlights – Property provisioning

Directly leased 196 properties from owners. 17,454 properties for ADF families. Supplied 715 properties for single ADF members. Acquired and constructed 1,154 properties. Acquired land to deliver approximately 3,500 allotments for future Defence housing. Extended and /or renewed 1,421 leases with existing lessors. Upgraded 145 Department of Defence owned properties. Won two industry awards for construction and one industry award for residential development marketing.

Highlights – Service delivery and customer service

Managed 16,091 ADF member tenancies in our properties at 30 June 2015. Maximised pre-allocation with 95.4% of properties locked down prior to posting. Contractors completed more than 258,000 individual maintenance items. Managed 13,099 properties on behalf of lessors. Achieved 9 consecutive certifications from the Customer Service Institute of Australia. Conducted more than 11,600 periodic property inspections. Managed 209,649 Living-in Accommodation allocations. Prepared 7,293 properties for new tenants.

Highlights – Human resources/corporate

Employed 607 staff in 26 offices throughout Australia. Achieved certification for Prevention First, our WHS management system. Achieved a 7.31 reduction in a severity rate of harm caused by staff incidents (TRIFR). Implemented a 360-degree feedback program for senior leaders and managers. Won an industry award for best deployment of a hosted learning management system. Increased mobile solutions for staff, ADF members and contractors. Staff attended or completed approximately 6,000 learning events and modules.

Highlights – Financial management

$6.7 million savings in operational expenses. Generated revenue of $498 million from the SLB program. Generated $29.7 million in revenue from development property sales. Generated revenue of $97.4 million from development land sales. Strong closing balance sheet with net assets of $1.5 billion. Achieved earnings before interest and tax of $140.8 million. Will pay shareholders a $54.6 million dividend for the year.
