About Mount Lofty
Located in the Toowoomba suburb of Mount Lofty, this development will see a former rifle range redeveloped into a masterplanned residential community comprising 342 lots over a 52 hectare portion of the 379 hectare site. Some of the lots will be retained by DHA on which homes will be built for Defence members and their families, with the remaining lots to be made available for public purchase.
The development is located in an elevated position on the edge of the ranges, with a rural outlook to the North-East. The site is well serviced in terms of amenities such as parks, shopping facilities, public and private schools and entertainment.
The site features an historical 100-year-old Moreton Bay Fig tree, planted by L/Sgt Eric French who served in WW1. The tree will form an important entry statement into the community when developed, and L/Sgt French’s story is set to be the centrepiece of DHA’s development at Mount Lofty.
Development commenced early 2017 with community engagement, with the Development Application lodged in June 2018.
