The following updates will be effective from 11 September 2025.

New filters for Vacant Beds

New filters have been added to the LIA vacant beds tab to assist Defence with emergency responses to events and operational planning.

New filters to:

  • Exclude beds restricted exclusively for courses; and/or
  • Exclude beds restricted to manual allocation (Unit Managed, VIP, Back Up or Duty)

Note: beds restricted exclusively for courses have a course restriction and no request type restrictions (i.e. not available for Transit, Temporary, Bulk or Permanent requests).

Access issues resolved

Previously, in specific scenarios, some users of the LIA Booking and Allocation system (BAS) could incorrectly:

  • Do a room availability search for a base that they don’t have access to
  • Manually allocate beds at other bases including overflow bases
  • Update check in and check out dates for non-camp rooms

Now, all LIA BAS users can only search for and manually allocate beds for the base(s) that they have access to. Further, if they have camp accommodation access, they can only update check in / check out dates for camp accommodation (i.e. level 0).

Example – rooms listed exclude overflow bases when the user does not have access to the overflow base:
