02 November 2018 Spook-tacular family fun raises money for sick kids

Neighbours from near and far flocked to the newly-opened Wirraway Park in hoards for a ‘frightfully’ good night of fun, food and family entertainment, hosted by award-winning developer Defence Housing Australia.

Camp Quality manned the barbeque and also entertained the crowd with a good old-fashion guessing game of how many chocolate eyeballs in the jar. With more than $800 raised, all funds will go directly to help sick kids suffering with cancer.

Among the residents who were having a screaming good time was Wirraway local Tracey, who enjoyed the festivities with her son.

‘It was wonderful to see so many families out enjoying a great afternoon, while also supporting a great organisation such as Camp Quality. My little boy had a fabulous time enjoying all that was on offer,’ said Tracey.

The Wirraway Halloween Party in the Park catered for the whole family (including four-legged friends) creating a safe space for families to trick or treat and enjoy free activities including face painting, jumping castle and a sausage sizzle.

There were also free lollies for the kids and prizes for the best dressed, which was hard to judge with so many little ghouls and ghosts out for the night.

Free family events at Wirraway are fast becoming a highlight of the local social calendar—with both last night’s Halloween party and the recent open-air cinema event proving to be hits.

Located just 25 minutes from Newcastle, Wirraway Thornton is a thriving community and has just entered its final stage. To find out about building your dream home visit www.wirrawaythornton.com.au
