24 May 2016 Defence Housing Australia wins award again after 10-year wait

Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is celebrating after taking home the gold from the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) Annual Report Awards, after last winning in 2006.

Representatives from DHA attended the IPAA flagship event at the National Portrait Gallery on 19 May to be presented the gold award in the Large Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act Category.

The last time DHA had the honour of winning at the IPAA Annual Report Awards was a decade ago when the business operated under the Financial Management and Accountability (FMA) Act.

Vying for the gold in the same category as DHA was Austrade, which was awarded silver; the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science that won bronze; and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority that received a commendation.

The IPPA Annual Report Awards is open to all Commonwealth entities (irrespective of their geographic location) and all ACT government agencies.

Nominations for the award are assessed by volunteers from Commonwealth and ACT Government agencies, who compile reports, which are then passed onto a panel of judges. All participants will receive feedback on their nominations now the awards have taken place.
