23 December 2014 Open plan living and outdoor entertaining areas a hit at Heartwood

Defence Housing Australia (DHA) recently completed its Heartwood residential development in the leafy suburb of Voyager Point.

Feedback received from Defence members and their families on their new homes has been overwhelmingly positive. They have all stated that the homes are well designed as they allow for open plan living and have great outdoor entertaining areas.

DHA Sydney West Regional Director Shauna Ramrakha was impressed with the homes upon final inspection. 'Location wise, Heartwood is surrounded by nature trails, scenic riverside walks and is close to all your essential amenities. Living in a tranquil location like Heartwood, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Sydney is a dream come true for many families,' Shauna said.

'This development will help to fulfil the need for quality housing for Defence members and their families in Sydney. It will also be home to many members of the public and we welcome them all and hope they find Heartwood a special place to call home,' Shauna said.

The completion of Heartwood has come at a perfect time as it will allow Defence members and their families the opportunity to enjoy the festive season in their new homes.

The name 'Heartwood' was inspired by the inner section of the Mahogany trees that surround the community. The heartwood of Mahogany trees is revered by carpenters for its strength and beautiful colouring. A similar ideology was used throughout the planning of this thriving new community.

This masterplanned community features 120 residences, with 42 properties retained for Defence members and their families. The remaining land lots were sold to the public.
