02 April 2013 Crimson Hill Community Centre given the go ahead

Defence Housing Australia’s (DHA’s) Crimson Hill development, in Lindfield, met a major milestone this week with the approval of its development application for a multi-purpose community centre.

The centre, which will be built by DHA with the support of Ku-ring-gai Council, will be the heart of the masterplanned community. The modern community centre, and state-of-the-art adjoining sports oval, will be a place for residents and visitors to partake in or spectate a range of community-related activities.

‘This centre is the first step in creating the community that will be Crimson Hill,’ DHA Managing Director Peter Howman said. ‘DHA are not just about bricks and mortar, we’re committed to building communities. We might be developing this site now, but we plan to be a part of it for many years to come. This will be a hub for all sorts of activities in Crimson Hill and we hope that it will become the heart of Crimson Hill.’

The upper level will feature three multi-purpose rooms, a kitchen and associated facilities, while the lower level will feature a change room and storage facility for the new soccer field currently under construction. The field is expected to be completed by July 2013 (weather permitting) and will be available for use immediately.

DHA plans to commence construction of the centre as soon as possible. It is expected to be completed by October, subject to weather and other approvals.
