10 December 2018 Team behind Terraces announces new Adelaide project

The developer behind Adelaide’s most recently awarded residential development, The Princes Terrace, is preparing to begin work on another major project in Adelaide.

Defence Housing Australia (DHA) purchased the 6.48 hectare Angle Park site from Department of Human Services earlier this month with plans to begin developing in mid-2019

‘After the success of the Princes Terrace we are really pleased to be working on another major Adelaide location,’ DHA Senior Development Manager Peter Gurkin said.

DHA plans to build 171 lots, a super lot, with potential for a small number of commercial opportunities to capitalise on the existing and planned infrastructure in the area.

‘Angle Park is in a good location and represents an opportunity to service a gap in the housing market through the provision of smaller townhouses and homes.’

DHA, which provides housing for members of the Australian Defence Force, plans to build 26 homes for Defence families posting to local Defence establishments. The remaining lots will be available to the community for purchase.

‘DHA is committed to creating vibrant, healthy and sustainable communities that bring Defence members, new homeowners and existing residents together in places they are proud to call home,’ Mr Gurkin said.

‘Throughout the development we will continue to engage with local residents, stakeholders and Government to ensure that our development suits the existing community and the future needs of the local residents.’

If you are interested in finding out more about DHA’s plans for Angle Park, two community information sessions at 10am and 5pm will be held on 13 December 2018 at the Parks Library, 46 Trafford Street Angle Park. Register to attend at anglepark@dha.gov.au
