20 March 2016 Breaking ground on homes in Glenroy’s newest development

Award-winning developer, Defence Housing Australia (DHA), today celebrated the start of construction on 62 townhouses at its new north Melbourne residential development, The Parade.

DHA Acting Managing Director, Jan Mason, said the development would set a benchmark for homes within the area and serve as a catalyst for urban revitalisation in the outer northern suburbs.

‘Building on the established character and close-knit community atmosphere of Glenroy, this exciting new development will be the first of its kind for the area,’ Ms Mason said. ‘The Parade has been carefully designed to integrate with the surrounding area while offering cutting edge contemporary living in a welcoming environment.’

Future residents, and Defence families, will benefit from the central urban location, as the new development is within walking distance of Jacana train station, Jacana reserve and the Glenroy Shopping strip.

‘Melbourne is an important centre for Defence operations, with a great lifestyle and a strong property market, which makes it an ideal location for investors too,’ Ms Mason said.

‘With the support of leading partners within the industry and our valued Defence stakeholders, we are able to continue to create innovative, efficient and high quality homes not only for Defence members and their families but also the wider community.’

Defence members and their families should be able to move in to the new homes towards the end of this year, while the second stage of homes will be made available for sale to the public over the coming months.

The new homes feature two and three-bedroom contemporary floor plans, with single or double garages. Each residence exudes quality and every detail has been considered to create homes that combine style and comfort with superior fixtures and fittings throughout.
