Defence Housing Australia wins award for Brisbane development
Defence Housing Australia (DHA) has received an award from Queensland's premier urban development body.
The Urban Development Institute of Australia (Queensland) Awards for Excellence, held on Friday 26 June, recognised outstanding achievements in the field of urban construction.
DHA took out the award for Best Small Residential Subdivision for the Grace Wilson Estate in Rode Road, Brisbane. This development of 50 homes, located close to Brisbane's CBD and the Enoggera Army Base, was commended for its "community creation and integration" by the judging panel. It was also described as "a functional, liveable and memorable development".
DHA Development Manager, Raja Narayanasamy, oversaw the design and construction of the estate, with Deicke Richards Architects providing architecture, landscape and urban design input.
The homes and the development have proved to be very popular with Defence Force members moving to the Brisbane region.
