DHA celebrates Top End milestone

In June, DHA celebrated completion of the final house in Lyons; a five-year development project in Darwin’s sought-after northern suburbs.

In March 2006 DHA embarked on a construction project to create the new suburb of Lyons in north Darwin. Almost 700 houses were planned for the development, with DHA retaining 345 of those for the growing Defence population in the Top End.

DHA celebrated a major development milestone in March 2010 when we unveiled a demonstration tropical house. Many of its sustainable and climatic features heavily influenced the housing designs in the final stages of construction.

The suburb was coordinated over a 12-stage process in conjunction with a number of builders, including PTM Group, Gusher, Darwin Constructions and Larrakia Homes.
