New homes for Enoggera

Defence Housing Australia has 18 new homes for Defence families, after our redeveloped estate at Enoggera was opened by Michael Del Gigante, DHA's Managing Director last week.

The 12 homes originally located in O'Connell Place no longer met Defence housing needs, and were marked for disposal.

DHA staff saw this as a unique opportunity to redevelop the site with homes that would set a high standard for Defence housing.

"We are very pleased with the outcome of the project and we're committed to maintaining this exceptional standard of housing in the community", said Mr Del Gigante.

All of the freestanding, four-bedroom homes feature a six star Energy Efficiency Rating. They also have large backyards for families to play. Architecturally designed by Ellivo, there are a variety of single- and two-storey homes, with flexible floor plans. They will be available for Rent Band 3.

The estate features a shared barbecue facility for families. Here they can take advantage of the upgraded landscaping and natural bushland settings that surround the estate.

The new homes are ideally located, adjoining the Enoggera Barracks, Brisbane, just 10 kilometres from the CBD. They are within walking distance from schools and close to shopping centres, public transport and community facilities.

Attendees at the event shared a morning tea, before touring three of the new homes.
